Can you help if I’ve been managing TRT myself?
Yes. Tell us what you’re taking and share your latest bloodwork, even if you don’t have a current prescription. Our team helps prepare for a physician review, where you can discuss your treatment, questions, and options for ongoing care.
Can your physician rewrite my foreign prescription in Colombia?
Your existing prescription is useful background, but a Colombian prescription is not guaranteed. The physician reviews your medical history, treatment, and results before deciding whether to issue a prescription and what treatment is appropriate.
Can I start before arriving in Colombia?
Yes. You can share your documents and begin coordinating care before you arrive. Tell our team where you’ll be staying and your expected arrival date so they can explain appointment options and next steps.
Can I keep my current medication and dose?
That depends on your physician’s review and local medication availability. Share the medication name, dose, schedule, and prescription so your physician can assess whether continuing or changing the plan is appropriate.
Will I need new bloodwork?
Your existing results are reviewed first. Additional or updated testing may be requested depending on what was tested, when it was completed, and what your physician needs to assess your treatment.
What if I’m concerned about the number of medications I’ve been prescribed?
Bring your full medication list and explain your concerns. Your physician can review the purpose of each medication, discuss the reasoning behind their recommendations, and determine whether changes are appropriate.
Do I have to join a membership?

Where does my medication come from?
Prescribed medication is dispensed through established pharmacies, including national pharmacy chains and compounding pharmacies where appropriate. Your team explains the pharmacy source and helps coordinate fulfillment for your prescribed plan.
Can I receive support outside Medellín?
Yes. TRT Optima supports clients across Colombia through telehealth and WhatsApp. Our team helps coordinate testing near you and explains medication delivery arrangements for your location.
Do foreigners pay more?
No. Colombian and foreign clients pay the same prices for equivalent services. Your costs depend on your prescribed treatment and selected support.
