Looking at the whole picture
Your health gives the numbers context.
Your physician considers how your weight has changed over time, what affects your appetite and routine, and whether symptoms suggest a contributing health condition.
The conversation also includes what feels realistic for your daily life.
What your physician considers
Bring details of current medicines and supplements, previous weight-management treatment, available results, and changes in sleep or menstrual patterns.
Mention pregnancy plans, pregnancy, or breastfeeding before any treatment decisions.
Measurements and testing with a purpose
Weight trends, waist measurements, blood pressure, and relevant blood tests may help guide assessment. Your physician determines which information is useful for your situation.
A hormone panel is not automatically required. Testing should help answer a clinical question.

A plan that can be reviewed and adjusted.
Nutrition, activity, and daily routines
Your physician discusses practical changes and whether additional nutrition or other professional support would help. Recommendations should consider your health, preferences, and circumstances.
Prescription treatment when appropriate
Medication may be considered alongside changes in eating and activity. Your physician assesses suitability, explains potential benefits and side effects, and discusses monitoring and expected duration.
A consultation does not guarantee a prescription. The appropriate option depends on your individual assessment.
Has weight management changed around menopause?
Aging, changes in muscle, activity, and sleep can influence midlife weight. Falling estrogen during menopause also contributes to a shift toward abdominal fat.
HRT may help menopause symptoms that disrupt daily life, but it is not a weight-loss treatment.
Menopause care and weight-management care may be considered together when both are relevant.

Before you get started
Is this service only for women going through menopause?
No. You can contact us before, during, or after menopause. Your age, health history, reproductive plans, and symptoms help determine appropriate care.
Do I need a hormone imbalance to receive weight-management care?
No. Weight-management assessment considers a range of contributors. Hormonal investigation is included when clinically relevant rather than assumed to be necessary for everyone.
Can HRT help me lose weight?
HRT is used for appropriate menopause-related indications. It is not prescribed as a general weight-loss treatment. If menopause symptoms and weight concerns overlap, your physician can discuss care for both. Explore menopause care →
Can I ask about prescription weight-management medication?
Yes. Your physician can explain whether medication is appropriate, its potential benefits and risks, and the follow-up involved. Selection follows assessment and depends on suitable, locally available options.
Can I receive treatment if I’m planning pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Tell your physician before treatment decisions. Weight-loss medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are planning pregnancy, medication choices and any stopping interval need individual review. NIDDK — weight-management medicines
Can you review medication I already use?
Yes. Share the medication, dose, prescribing details, duration, and any benefits or side effects. Your physician determines whether continuation, changes, or further assessment are appropriate.
Do I need bloodwork before contacting you?
No. Start with the information you have and share any existing results. Your physician determines whether additional testing is useful.
